"You can’t compete externally if you can’t first collaborate internally." - Jim Tamm, Co-Founder of Radical Collaboration®
Radical Collaboration® (RC) and Radical Collaboration® for Women™ (RCW) is a methodology for building high-trust relationships. It is more than a set of skills; it is a values-driven foundation to cultivate emotional intelligence. RC is practical and hands on. The format is highly interactive, focusing on technical and emotional competencies that are essential to building and maintaining climates of trust and collaboration. Skills are immediately useful and can be quickly implemented in any workplace environment.
Green Zone Cultures™ are brain-friendly, interpersonally safe environments that honor individuals and consciously seek to to reduce fears that trigger the need for self-protection, hyper-competition, and other negative human reactions that bankrupt workplace equity.
Green Zone Thinking™ is a pre-condition for building high trust sustainable organizational cultures. It cultivates the cooperative mindset. Rooted in empathy, mutual support and the intention to engage people and build positive connections, individuals who adopt and practice Green Zone Thinking™ find themselves in workplaces that are safe and trusted.
RC and Green Zone Benefits Cultivating Green Zone thinking, attitudes and behaviors is like downloading a new operating system. On a biochemical level, the feelings of trust and safety engendered in the Green Zone activate the higher cortex of the brain, enabling more sophisticated mental processes, such as increased conscious decision-making, regulated personal defensiveness, elevated abilities to imagine, innovate, create and plan. This in turn generates interpersonal resonance between and among people cultivating the underlying social capital that drives high performance, positive work cultures and attracts emotionally intelligent talent.
People make the difference in the success of project implementation. Any product, service, task or innovative system can be sabotaged, delayed or undermined by individuals with a bad attitude or poor working relations. Human beings are profoundly social -- we are hardwired to connect to one another and to want to work together. However, we are not always skillful at working together and have often received little help or support in building relational skills. Most academic training focuses on the technical aspects of work leaving us to figure out the relational issues on our own, leading to unnecessary struggles and frustrations. From our experience, we know that the majority of relationship issues can be solved when we support people in cultivating capacities to create trust, openness and safety. This not only saves a lot of money and aggravation, it also builds a foundation for putting mutual trust and emotional commitment back in the work place, thus unleashing the human energy to do extraordinary work together.
Target Audience Radical Collaboration, Radical Collaboration for Women, and Green Zone Thinking are for anyone who works with people.
Corporate Training Interactive learning labs and workshops are designed to teach and practice collaborative intention; truthfulness; self-accountability; self-awareness; interest-based problem solving and negotiation; cultivating the self-witness; demonstrating care; and taking action.
Programming packages vary and can be customized to meet specific organizational challenges, budget and resource constraints. Sessions can include 3, 5 or 7-day intensives, followed up with optional peer coaching, small group interactions, and additional training days. Many opt for a 6-month package for optimal adoption and sustainability. The overall goal is to integrate Radical Collaboration and Green Zone Thinking practices into day to day operations. Expected results: ‘this is how we do business’ not ‘this is an additional task to an already demanding workload’.

Proven Return on Investement
Collaborative skills are essential for long-term profitability. The program has produced strong research-based results. One follow up research study tracked participants from nine countries over a six year period. In her report, Professor Mayte Barba, Director of Business Administration at Monterrey Tech University in Cuernavaca Mexico noted the following average gains:
A 49.5 percent increase in effectiveness for participants in reducing their own defensiveness in conflict,
A 44.8 percent increase in effectiveness at getting their interests met in conflicted situations,
A 31.5 percent increase in effectiveness at problem solving, and
A 26.4 percent increase in effectiveness at building and maintaining long-term climates of trust.
Another study tracked almost 100 organizations specifically identified as having adversarial climates. Based upon very accurate records kept by the State of California, researchers documented an average reduction in the rate of conflict of 67% over a three year period.
Research conducted by the Institute of Industrial Relations at the University of California, Berkeley confirmed that transformations from ineffective, adversarial, non-trusting work relationships into effective cooperative and trusting work relationships were the norm rather than the exception. Trust increased, communications improved, and working relationships became more productive. Participants reported that not only did the working environment become more collaborative; the products of their problem solving efforts were much improved. When surveyed about their subsequent long-term use of workshop skills, participants universally reported high follow up usage.
